Q1 Resort is located in the iconic residential tower on the Gold Coast. The tower was built 10 years ago yet still remains the tallest residential tower in Australia.

Q1 has a fantastic selection of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments that comfortably accommodate families of any size. Out of nearly 600 apartments in the building over 300 are managed by the resort which ensures great flexibility for the guests.

The building itself is very stylish, designed by the award winning architect Ken Elliott. White glass and steel tower is very impressive indeed and is a true style icon on the Gold Coast.  The lobby, decorated with water features and designer furniture makes a memorable and welcoming first impression.

Accommodation

I had a pleasure of staying in a three bedroom apartment on level 62 with sensational views of the whole coast. I could see the coastline stretch nearly as far as Burleigh Heads on one side and Gold Coast mountains on the other. Ocean views from the master bedroom took my breath away every morning and transformed to simply magical at night with the glistening lights of the evening skyline.

Three bedroom residences are truly oversized, spread over 150 square meters and comprise from a spacious living room, full kitchen, laundry and 2.5 bathrooms. As a special treat there is a pool table on the terrace which provide hours of entertainment for the younger guests.

Spacious master bedroom is a true ‘adults retreat’ – located separately from the rest of the bedrooms, it has an open ensuite with a large bath, walk in wardrobe and of course the best views in the house. A true home away from home.

Dining

Q1 is not just a hotel but a great entertainment complex in the heart of Surfers. You won’t need to venture out too far to get your morning coffee or to enjoy a dinner out. Choose from a fantastic burger restaurant Longboards located by the pool, very popular lunch time venue, or try Osaka Kaiten, best sushi train in Surfers according to their advertising. My kids would vouch for that.

If you are up for a bit of family fun try Hanazono, Japanese tepanyaki restaurant. For a casual meal with a view try Skylounge on level 74. Skylounge has floor to ceiling windows and serves a buffet breakfast or afternoon tea to Q1 guests.

For those who prefer to dine in their residence Q1 staff can arrange grocery delivery to the apartment or arrange a take away delivery from one of many nearby restaurants.

Facilities

Q1 Resort has excellent facilities for the children and adults alike. Two large swimming pools are surrounded by deck chairs and stylish white cabanas. Indoor heated pool is perfect for morning laps or for entertaining younger guests on cooler days.

Fully equipped gym looks onto the lagoon pool – a pleasant setting indeed.

If you prefer the outdoors, take advantage of the resort’s superb location and go for a run on the beach, located mere 50 meters away from the hotel’s entrance.

For the younger guests there is a games arcade and a cinema room. Just bring your own DVD and enjoy a night in.

Q1 Day Spa

Q1 day Spa is one of the most well known spas on the Gold Coast. The spa is run by Exclusive Spas, a wonderful Australian company that skilfully blends in their approach to wellness ancient techniques and modern technologies. Eight treatment rooms are set up for both wet and dry therapies. Some of the spa specialities are Vichy showers, hot rocks, chilled rocks and aroma spa baths. I had a relaxation massage and felt all tension melt away from my body during the treatment.

For those who look to enhance their romantic stay at Q1 with a special experience book a treatment in a couple’s room and indulge together.

The Lux Traveller Loves

We love the stylish design of the building, large swimming pools and superb location near the beach. The spa is excellent too as is the friendly service.

Splitting Hairs

It would be great to have pool service, so guests could order drinks and refreshments without leaving their stylish deck chairs.
