Pan Pacific Singapore – Classic hotel in a great location

Arrival

Pan Pacific guests arrive in style. Hotel concierge has arranged my transfers from the airport and I arrived in an elegant black S Class Mercedes. Courteous driver offered me a cold drink, Wi-Fi connection and even an iPhone charger.

On arrival I was quickly chaperoned to my room – open plan Pacific Harbour Studio. The view that opens up from the window was a highlight of my stay – especially at night when Marina Bay Sands laser show lights up the sky.

Rooms and Suites

Rooms are very comfortable for a business stay. There is a well equipped desk to check your emails, while those who are here to relax, can indulge in a leisurely bath that sits proudly out in the open.

Room design is clever with a separate luggage area flowing through to the bathroom and opening up to the bedroom. This way there are no bags in sight and guests can enjoy their living space and feel at home. Rooms are not overly modern in design as last major renovation took place about 10 years ago, but the hotel is very well maintained and what sets it apart from the competition is great location (in the Marina Bay area), views, and excellent service.

My room came with Club access and I enjoyed starting my days with breakfast on level 29 with breathtaking views all around me. The staff in the lounge greeted me by name every time I came in – these personal touches is what made the hotel experience stand out for me.

Rooms feature Handy phones that allow guests to make international phone calls to over 10 countries free of charge.

Pan Pacific has a number of beautiful one-bedroom suites and they have been recently renovated and look and feel plush and luxurious. My personal pick is Pacific Skyline Suite. It doesn’t come with Marina Bay views, but makes up for it in size and lux factor.

Facilities

Pan Pacific boasts a stunning outdoor pool with an inviting cabanas and lounges for those lucky ones who have time to relax. But don’t worry if you are at work all day, the spa stays open late and offers wonderful relaxation treatments – so welcome and needed after a long day of meetings. I had a Balinese massage that was so good that I didn’t want to get up once the treatment was over.

For active travellers there is a large gym that stays open 24 hours for hotel guests and offers a great range of cardio and weights. If Singapore heat doesn’t scare you away try going for a run early in the morning – Marina Bay area is very pretty and perfectly set up for joggers.

Club Lounge

Wonderful Club Lounge, one of the best in Singapore, serves my favourite champagne in the evenings Lauren Perrier Rose and delightful sweet and savory snacks during cocktail hour in an elegant setting high above town.

Breakfast is gorgeous too with tropical fruit and berries, freshly squeezed juices, eggs made to order. Staff is very attentive and will make sure that your coffee is hot and water glass full at all times.

The Lux Traveller Loves

Plush suites
Resort style swimming pool
Handy phones in the rooms offering free of charge calls to 10 countries
Superb Club Lounge

Splitting Hairs

If brand new rooms is your requirement, Pan Pacific might not be the right choice for you. Rooms are comfortable but not of the latest standard in furnishings and technology.

All In All

Great hotel in a fantastic location. Service is excellent as is the spa and the Club Lounge. I’ll be happy to call Pan Pacific home on my next business trip to Singapore.
