Barcelona is a city that delights in design, culture, and culinary pleasures—and few places capture this spirit better than Almanac Barcelona. During my recent stay, I discovered a boutique hotel that seamlessly blends understated elegance with modern comforts, creating a home-from-home for travellers who appreciate the finer details.

The Perfect Location
Set in a prime position on Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, just steps from the Passeig de Gràcia, Almanac Barcelona is ideally placed for exploring the city. Whether you’re in the mood for high-end shopping, Michelin-starred dining, or a stroll through Barcelona’s architectural wonders, everything is within easy reach. Yet despite its central location, the hotel manages to feel like a private retreat—calm, intimate, and beautifully serene.

Accommodation
I stayed in one of the hotel’s beautifully appointed suites and loved the thoughtful design and views from my window daybed. Interiors by Jaime Beriestain Studio combine warm oak and walnut with soft gold and beige tones, creating a space that feels simultaneously luxurious and inviting. My room featured a custom reading nook in the window—once a traditional Juliet balcony—where I could sit with a coffee and watch Barcelona life unfold below.

The Ibizan marble bathroom was another highlight, with a spacious rainfall shower, double vanity, and plush towels that added a touch of indulgence. I also appreciated the Jimmy Boyd amenities, a fragrant and generous selection of toiletries created by the renowned perfumist, adding a layer of sensory pleasure to the stay.

Dining

One of the standout moments of my stay was dinner at Virens, the hotel’s signature restaurant. Michelin-starred Chef Rodrigo de la Calle has brought his green gastronomy concept to Barcelona, and the result is a vibrant menu that celebrates vegetables, fruits, and botanicals. Every dish was a discovery—from delicate starters to bold mains, all crafted with a farm-to-table ethos. It’s no wonder Virens has been recognised as one of the Best Discovery Restaurants in Spain by the We’re Smart Green Guide.
Rooftop Relaxation

The Azimuth Rooftop Bar is another treasure at Almanac Barcelona. With panoramic views over the city—taking in landmarks like La Sagrada Familia and Mount Tibidabo—it’s the perfect spot for a sunset cocktail.

The rooftop pool and sun lounges are reserved exclusively for hotel guests, providing a peaceful escape high above the city streets.
The Lux Traveller Loves
What I loved most about Almanac Barcelona is its ability to make you feel connected to the city while offering a peaceful and design-forward sanctuary. The hotel’s attention to detail, from its interiors to its wellness facilities and warm, personal service, ensures a memorable stay. For travellers seeking refined comfort with a genuine sense of place, Almanac Barcelona is a must.
