Grand Hyatt is a luxury hotel in Western Berlin, excellent location on Potzdamer Platz. Hotel isn’t new but has been meticulously renovated and rooms boast modern interiors and all comforts a luxury traveller would expect – automated black out blinds, heated floors, coffee machines. The hotel is owned by Mercedes Benz so two of the signature suites are Maybach Suite and Daimler Suite, both inspired by cutting edge design of the famous luxury vehicles.

Accommodation

Hyatt has 326 rooms and 16 suites over seven floors; some of them look out onto the neighbourhood, some into the internal courtyard. Rooms are fairly compact but functional. We especially liked stylish marble bathrooms and extremely comfortable beds.

For luxury traveller we would suggest one of the two most exquisite suites- Daimler Suite or Maybach Suite.

Dining

Breakfast is excellent and features a lot of hot dishes (eggs, sausages, bacon) as well as a great selection of continental treats. Germany has excellent brown bread, cheeses and smoked salmon, sometimes made in-house. So no matter whether you like hot or cold breakfast, you’ll find something very tasty to start your day with.

Bar is a happening place with a well heeled crowd getting together to celebrate the end of the work day. Tiziano Italian restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and is always busy. The food is excellent with my favourites being Tagliata (beef steak) and Minestrone.

Both bar and restaurant have great atmosphere and I would highly recommend it.

Club Lounge

Grand Hyatt gets a lot of business travellers so it also offers a quiet club lounge that serves breakfast and evening canapés and drinks to guests staying at the Club Level.

Facilities

Hyatt has a gorgeous little spa featuring natural beauty products. Hydrating facial is a must try after a long haul flight. Not only will it restore glow to your skin, but will also nourish it with natural ingredients and essential oils.

Gym is well equipped with a variety of weight and cardio equipment as well as the new Kinesis machine (perfect for a whole body work out).

Indoor swimming pool – is a real treat – a perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing or working.

Service at the restaurant on a busy night could be a bit slow, keep it in mind that dinner might take longer than expected.
