Villa Principe Leopoldo, the former vacation home of Prince Federico Leopoldo, is situated in Collina d’Oro (the Golden Hill) in the beautiful lakeside town of Lugano, less than an hour away from Milan, in Switzerland’s idyllic Ticino region. Lugano is one of the most spectacular European lakes, with the views nothing short of breathtaking.

A member of Relais & Chateaux, Villa Principe Leopoldo was commissioned in 1926 as a summer residence for Prince Friedrich Leopoldo and was built in a Belle Époque style mixed with Renaissance and Art Déco elements.

The Villa has 37 suites, junior suites and deluxe rooms over two levels, with most of them enjoying beautiful views towards the lake and the surrounding mountains. The Villa’s Residence has another 38 rooms and suites.

Principe Leopoldo has wonderful facilities, a rarity amongst boutique hotels in Lugano.
