‘Kids Only’ Fun in KidZania Singapore

Who wants to arrange a fabulous day out for your kids and have some adult fun at the same time? I thought so – most parents!

One of the recent discoveries on our family in Singapore was Kidzania, a multi award winning interactive indoor education and entertainment centre, where children experience adult world in a mini replica of a real city.

Kidaznia is a global enterprise and you can find these wonderful centers in Dubai, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur to mention just a few cities. Kidzania is best suited for children aged four and up. My guys are 8 and 14 and both of them still enjoyed the activities.

First time we visited Kidzania I left the kids there only for a couple of hours, thinking it is more than enough time to enjoy the activities. Yet when I came back to pick them up, they asked to stay in Kidzania for the whole day. There is so much to do – be a pilot for the day, security guard, hairdresser or fire fighter – a couple of hours just isn’t enough!

Location in Singapore: Sentosa Island, close to theme parks and Siloso beach. Approximately 15 minutes drive from Marina Bay area.

Safety: On check-in (designed like the airport check-in counter) kids and parents receive security bracelets, so the kids can’t leave the centre without their parents’ matching tags. They also can’t take these off without assistance of staff, so your little angels are perfectly safe when inside the centre.

Highlights: It seems that everyone favourite ‘job’ is being a pilot and I don’t blame the kids – the cockpit looks pretty realistic. Kids get fitted out into Qatar uniforms and have a go at taking off and landing the plane. Secure a Queue Card at selected timings listed outside the Aviation Academy in advance, as it gets very busy, especially on the weekends.

Cooking your own pizza at Pizza Hut and making hot dogs is something that is also very popular with both boys and girls. Girls also seem to favour Acting academy and being a radio presenter.

Most of the above jobs pay salary and KidZos (Kidzania’s version of money) are a hot currency that buys gifts at the end of the day. Upon check-in kids even receive a debit card from Maybank loaded with 30 KidZoes.

All in all – a wonderful day out for the kids. They learn a lot, have fun and learn to be independent while parents enjoy a little adult-time.
