Fit To Promise

Kokomo is my new paradise, an island resort that will exceed all your expectations. This luxurious, one of a kind retreat, is owned by Lang Walker, Australian Forbes list billionaire and property developer.

Kokomo was Lang’s personal dream – a creation that came from the heart, a private island for the multigenerational traveller. Lang Walker doesn’t do things by halves and Kokomo is a true testament of that. It is an ultimately luxurious destination – a private island with only 21 Beachfront villas and 5 Residences, each ranging from 3-5 bedrooms.

Resort’s territory is so vast you’d be better off exploring it with a golf buggy and 400 staff on call ensure that your every wish is attended to.

Arrival & International Flight Connections

Kokomo Island can be reached either by a seaplane or helicopter from Nadi International Airport. Both operate only in the day time, so it would be best to arrive before 3pm to avoid an overnight stay on the mainland.

The flight is stunning, over coral reefs and endless turquoise lagoons so have your smartphones ready for a scenic flight. Quick 45-minute flight and you arrive in paradise! From here on pure bliss begins.

Once you step off the plane, you’ll be greeted by a smiling Fijian Kokomo team with fresh coconuts and welcome songs, after which you’ll be whisked away to your villa for check-in and formalities.

Accommodation

Beachfront Villas are perfect for honeymooners or young families.

They comprise of a bedroom and separate living area, outdoor terrace with comfortable daybeds and a good size private pool. All are located along the beach and many offer complete privacy thanks to the vegetation.

Villas are meticulously designed with every comfort in mind and are complimented by one of a kind artwork on the walls, a full complimentary mini bar, coffee machine, complimentary laundry service during your stay, butler on call and a lot more.

Walk-in wardrobe would accommodate all your luggage, while very spacious bathrooms feature indoor and outdoor showers for two, double vanities and a sexy bath out in the open. Perfect villas, designed for love and romance.

Five Residences are located hillside with wonderful, elevated views of the island. They are perfect for multigenerational families. All bedrooms come with en-suites and are very spacious, located over two levels to allow for maximum privacy. Multiple living spaces are oversized and look and feel like your luxurious beach house, rather than a hotel. Each Residence is individually designed and furnished in a contemporary, light and homey style.

Dining

We loved the dining concept on the island – it is pretty much order when you like, eat wherever you like and anything you like. Breakfast, lunch and dinner come with daily menus, which vary from day to day, but you can ask the chefs to prepare anything your heart desires. As long as it is available on the island, chefs will make it happen for you. All fish is caught daily, eggs come from the chickens at the resort farm, many veggies and bananas are grown on the island – it is as organic as it gets at Kokomo. So nice to know where your food comes from.

For a special occasion you could request a romantic picnic on a private island – the team will prepare it for you and set you up with umbrellas, blankets and towels on a private beach away from the island and will protect your privacy by not allowing any other boats to disturb you in your special romantic paradise.

Activities

This is possibly the best part – there is so much to do at Kokomo. You can go snorkelling on the inner or outer reef with turtles, sharks and colourful fish; you can explore the nearby dive sites or swim with manta rays. That was the highlight of our stay – swimming with 20 manta rays for an hour – frolicking in the water 10-20 cm away from these magnificent playful creatures.

Many guests love fishing trips – they go for half a day and return with huge fish that is served in the restaurants the next day. Then there is water skiing, catamarans, paddle boards – endless ways to entertain yourself on holidays. But it is equally nice to do nothing, simply stay together in your beautiful villa – enjoy your swimming pool, beach and complete privacy.

To add to the holiday vibe, visit the Spa – it has a number of couples rooms and offers incredibly relaxing massages. Perfect activity on a rainy afternoon.

The Lux Traveller Loves

We loved the whole experience – stylish arrival by a private seaplane, romantic pool villas, exquisite dining and incredible swim with the manta rays. We also loved the staff – Fijians are so warm and friendly and resort’s General Manager Martin is the life of the party – a wonderful, welcoming, engaged and very funny gentleman. All of the staff interact with the guests, so you’ll get to know a little of their personal stories.

Splitting Hairs

We travelled in August and got a fair bit of rain, which isn’t ideal when you pay $3,500 USD per night. I would suggest to plan your trip in a warm, dry season to get the maximum benefit from your Kokomo holiday.

All In All

Incredible private island! Highly recommended it to all travellers looking for bare foot luxury, complete relaxation and rustic experience.
