Dubai has no shortage of luxury hotels, but if you are over a big city vacation and looking for something more intimate, there is a newcomer on UAE luxury hotel scene Oberoi Al Zorah in Ajman.
The journey to Oberoi starts with a stylish Audi Q8 airport transfer that takes approximately 30-minutes from Dubai and lands you in an exquisite setting of lush greens, sparkling white and azure of the Arabian sea. This sleek hotel has been designed in modern style; striking white buildings stand proud amongst the lush gardens and water features.
Accommodations are split between rooms and suites and villas. Rooms and suites are located furthest from the beach, separated from the villas by a 85-meter infinity pool.
Three-bedroom villas are situated next, providing guests with the maximum space, private pools and gardens.
And along the beach are the two-bedroom beachfront villas, the jewel of the resort. All have private access to the sparkling sea, yet all villas provide privacy to the guests due to the lush green hedges.
A nice feature of the villas is that every bedroom has its own entrance so the couples sharing can be independent from each other.
Villas offer are a true escape to the local residents, especially in the hotter months of the year. It can be up to 10 degrees cooler in Ajman, than in in Dubai on a same day.
Another unique feature of the resort is a wide white sand private beach, equipped with cabanas, sun lounges, offering beach service and non-motorised water sports. Days can easily be spent here enjoying the sun, with a good book and cocktail in hand.
Those who prefer a little more active lifestyle would enjoy complimentary bikes, yoga classes and a fitness room, equipped with cardio and weights equipment. Fitness room has floor to ceiling windows and looks over the gardens, a serene setting for your exercise session.
Gourmands would adore a stay at the Oberoi, as both restaurants serve exquisite food. Breakfast at Vinese was a great start to the day with an interesting selection of healthy meals. My favourite was blueberry coconut buckwheat porridge, very tasty and unlike anything I have seen on a menu before. Fresh juices, exotic fruits, brewed coffees make you want to linger over breakfast with a view just a little longer.
Lunch and dinner are served at the beachside Aquario, Mediterranean inspired beachside restaurant. No need to say, in a very stylish setting. Highlight in the restaurant is a Fish Sommelier.
Choose from excellent fresh seafood or indulge in traditional Italian cuisine. I had Eggplant Parmigiana, that took me all the way back to Italy with its authentic flavours.
How to spend your days here?
If you are not lounging around by a pool or by the sea, dining or exercising, you might try the spa or have a round of golf at Jack Niklaus designed golf course nearby. Whether you are here for a weekend or a week of relaxation there is something for everyone. While parents indulge in some adult activities, kids could visit the Kids Club, even though opening hours may vary due to Covid restrictions.
I’d recommend this resort for mature couples, young families wanting to getaway from a busy city or romantic couples in search of R&R.
What makes this resort a stand out?
Oberoi service is legendary and Oberoi Al Zorah is no exception. During the stay you’ll be welcomed with personalized amenities, arrival treats, even your laptop will receive a special attention and clean when left in the room.
Peace and privacy, nature setting and tranquility is what comes to mind when I am asked to describe this resort. If you are in need of a well-deserved beachside vacation away from a big city, if you love good food and luxurious private villas this resort is for you.
