Fit To Promise

I recently had a pleasure to visit Doha to see the city before the fast approaching FIFA World Cup 2022. I checked out a few of the luxury hotels in Doha and have to say that Four Seasons is my personal favourite.

Location

Four Seasons is located in Westbay, very close to business centre, yet on the beach. It makes it a great property for both business and leisure travellers.

The sea in front of the hotel is clean and view from the seaview rooms are stunning! If budget allows, please reserve only seaview room / suite – it makes a huge difference to the experience.

The hotel is located only twenty minutes away from the airport and Four Seasons runs a fleet of luxury cars ready to take you anywhere, any time.

Accommodation

The hotel was recently fully renovated. No expense was spared on turning an already great hotel to a luxurious sanctuary it is now. I stayed in a one-bedroom Executive Sea View Suite and was delighted by its bright disposition, white and turquoise tones, floor to ceiling windows and sensational, uninterrupted views of the sparkling Arabian sea.

The décor is exquisite with custom made furniture, high thread count sheets, marble bathroom. Even the most spoiled Lux Traveller will appreciate the elegance of this accommodation. The suites are very spacious and would have plenty of space for a young family or discerning couple.

Dining

Breakfast at the Four Seasons was of the highest quality – served buffet style with multiple live cooking stations and plenty of healthy options like berries, tropical fruit, chia seeds, fresh fruit, vegetables. Restaurant has a sophisticated atmosphere, predominantly well dressed business people during my visit.

For dinner you can’t go past Nobu, signature restaurant located on its own island in front of the hotel and perched above by sea. Famous Japanese restaurant by Nobu Matsuhisa and Robert DeNiro has all the signature Nobu dishes you’d find in other Nobu restaurants around the world; worth mentioning that this is the biggest Nobu in the world.

My favourite way to experience this restaurant is not to read the menu, but request for the chef to surprise you with the signature dishes he feels are best on the day. It’s a night to remember with exquisite food matched by stunning views of Doha skyline over the water. Alcohol is served in Doha and a glass of champagne would go beautifully with your meal.

Facilities

There is a couple of tropical pools in front of the beach and sun lounges all along hotel’s beach. I have to say though that even though bikinis are acceptable on the beach, I didn’t feel comfortable undressing down to a bikini.

Doha is a more conservative city compared to Dubai or Abu Dhabi and most ladies on the beach were local, all swimming fully dressed, so prancing around in a little bikini didn’t seem right.

The hotel offers day passes to locals for beach / pool, so expect the pool area to be very busy with locals and kids on the weekends (Friday & Saturday).

The Spa

The Spa in the Four Seasons Doha requires a special mention – it is incredible, huge and offers exquisite treatments. It occupies its own pavilion over two floors with plenty of treatment rooms and incredible facilities – jacuzzi, warm pools, cold plunge pool, head hydro massage, colour room, steam, cold room that imitates a Russian winter and private jacuzzi in ‘his’ and ‘hers’ changing rooms. I was spoiled with a facial and a massage and would’ve happily spent the whole day in the spa enjoying the facilities if I didn’t have to catch a flight.

Highly recommend a visit to the spa, I found the therapists to be highly skilled and prices reasonable.

The Lux Traveller Loves

I love the modern elegance of the hotel, exquisite suites, beach location and Nobu.

Splitting Hairs

It was my first experience not being comfortable wearing a bikini on a beach due to local culture. Something to be mindful of. Plus very busy pool area on the weekend is something to be aware of.

All In All

The best hotel in Doha, perfect for both business and leisure travellers.
