The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm

The Palm in Dubai has just gotten more luxurious with an arrival of a new, very stylish hotel The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm. It is positioned in a very convenient location, at the start of the Palm Jumeirah (making it easily accessible from the city) and adjacent to Nakheel Mall shopping centre. The hotel is between two roads so it doesn’t have a beach yet, but from what I hear, a stylish beach club is in the pipeline.

Accommodation

The St. Regis is a brand new hotel, designed and built to be a St. Regis from the beginning, hence it features very spacious rooms and elegant design that this glamorous brand is known for.

Guests can choose from Deluxe guestrooms starting from 43 sq meters to stunning suites. We stayed in a Grand Deluxe one-bedroom suite – a gorgeous sanctuary high above The Palm. Being one of a few tall buildings on The Palm it has stunning views towards the Arabian sea and Burj Al Arab from most rooms.

The suite features a spacious living room with floor to ceiling windows, powder room, elegant bedroom and a marble bathroom for two with a stand alone bath as a centerpiece. You could fully open the sliding doors to the bathroom and enjoy a bath with a view.

Facilities

The hotel has a fully equipped gym and two outdoor wet-edge swimming pools on level 6. One for families, another for adults only. There is also an Iridium Spa ready to pamper you after a long flight.

Aura Lounge, on level 50, is another highlight of the hotel – it is a spectacular lounge with a pool that wraps around the whole permitter of the building, with possibly the best views in Dubai and clubby atmosphere.

Dining

Main restaurant Cordelia is located poolside on level 6. It serves an elegant breakfast and dinner, buffet style, for the guests who choose half board.

A stand out venue at the hotel is rooftop restaurant Sushi Samba, a very elegant restaurant on level 51 with unobstructed views of the Palm Jumeirah coastline, plush interiors and intimate booth seating. Perfect for a romantic dinner or friends’ get together.  Enjoy the freshest sushi accompanied by a DJ and designer cocktails to get a true vibe of Dubai.

The Lux Traveller Loves

Stunning suites with unparalleled design and space. Modern, bright and elegant.

Love the romantic touch of an open bath.

Champagne Sabering ritual – you can’ miss this exquisite tradition – opening of a champagne bottle by slicing off the top exactly at 5.30pm at The St Regis bar – every St Regis in the world follows the tradition and you have to be a part of it at The St. Regis The Palm.

Sushi Samba and Aura  – even though these venues are not run by the hotel, they are in the same building and are an absolute ‘must-visit’.

Splitting Hairs

Beach Club will be an excellent addition to an already wonderful hotel.

All In All

The new St Regis is an excellent business hotel on The Palm. Traditionally The Palm was only for the leisure travellers and it’s very nice to see a property that caters to the business travellers as well. I travel for work often and like to be in a nice beachside location, but not necessarily surrounded by the beach goers. The St. Regis provides exactly what I am after – relaxed, elegant atmosphere, perfectly suited for the business and leisure traveller alike.
