Twinpalms Phuket – Adults Getaway

Phuket is a beautiful tropical island in Thailand. If you are looking for incredible beaches, warm water, sunny days, great food and very kind people – this island is for you.

Phuket offers a lot of luxury hotels – some better suited for families, some for weddings and events, and some like Twinpalms are perfect for couples.

Location

Twinpalms is located in the vicinity of Surin beach. Twinpalms Beach Butler will be waiting for you between 9am-6pm to help you settle in, in the shade of swaying palm trees, with a beach mat and oversized towels.

For beach with the full service, take hotel’s complimentary minibus to Catch or HQ, two of the best beach clubs in town, owned by the same group.

Airport is convenient half an hour away, and touristy Patong Beach is 20 minutes by taxi.

Accommodation

Twinpalms has rooms and suites for every budget. Even the basic rooms start from 51 sq meters and are ideal for couples, but too small for a family.

The benefit of the basic rooms is their location on the ground floor, poolside – you are never too far from a refreshing dip. Rooms are practical and affordable, however for a luxurious stay we’d recommend Duplex Pool Suites. These spacious and stylish suites come with a private swimming pool, living room with double height ceilings and one or two bedrooms. These are perfect for a longer stay or a family.

With a size of 190 sq meters, private garden, oversized king bed, 46” TV, high count bed linen, these suites are a true sanctuary for a discerning traveller. A home away from home.

What to do in Twinpalms?

If you are an active traveller like us, you’d like to know what your relaxation options are, apart from the hotel pool. Luckily Twinpalms owns two of the best beach clubs on the island – Catch and HQ. Catch is famous for its incredible parties (including themed nights on New Year’s, Christmas and Russian Christmas), good food and pretty location on Bangtao Beach.

HQ is located next door to Cafe Del Mar in Kamala. Both are about 10-15 minutes by shuttle from the hotel. Both offer complimentary sun beds and water to hotel guests. These clubs are open during the day and also at night for dinner or a cocktail.

After a day in the sun you have a few options back at the hotel – you can hit the gym to work off the extra energy you conserved sun baking, or for those who like their holidays a little slower, visit the spa.

Sun Spa Esthederm

Girls at the spa are very professional – I tried the massage and a facial and both were beautiful and very relaxing. If you prefer your treatments to be results driven, rest assured, French brand Esthederm has proactive ingredients in all their products and treatments are specifically designed for humid and hot Thailand weather.

Dining

When it comes to dining, Twinpalms team consider themselves experts. One of the best restaurants on the island, Palm Seaside, is part of the group and offers freshest seafood in a very elegant al fresco atmosphere. Private sunken booths are perfect for a romantic occasion.

Sunday brunch at Oriental Spoon is a ‘must do’ amongst the local expat community. Every Sunday they gather over oriental delights to catch up on the week’s happenings. It’s a very nice atmosphere, that feels almost like an expats’ club.

For a casual meal during the day there is Poolside bar that offers a small selection of traditional western lunch treats.

And of course there is HQ and Catch, open all day long for you to enjoy a meal beachside. We ate at Catch nearly every day – they have a fantastic menu and every dish we tried was excellent. Highly recommend a visit to Catch even if you are not a hotel guest.

The Lux Traveller Loves

Spacious double storey Duplex Pool Suites

Catch Beach Club – food and location

Splitting Hairs

Buffer breakfast has room for improvement, selection isn’t as good as in some of the other five star hotels on the island. And in terms of rooms I would suggest booking a higher category suite for a luxurious stay.

All In All

What TwinPalms misses in location, it makes up in facilities. We loved the variety  – exploring different locations, beach clubs and restaurants during our stay. If you choose TwinPalms you won’t be bored. A great hotel for couples.
